After inputting our personal information to set up an account with Scholarship Monkey, our Firefox browser issued this alert: “This Connection is Untrusted. You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.scholarshipmonkey.com, but we can’t confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site’s identity can’t be verified.”
We tried again using Google Chrome and got this message: “The site’s security certificate has expired! You attempted to reach www.scholarshipmonkey.com, but the server presented an expired certificate. No information is available to indicate whether that certificate has been compromised since its expiration. This means Google Chrome cannot guarantee that you are communicating with www.scholarshipmonkey.com and not an attacker. You should not proceed, especially if you have never seen this warning before for this site.”
We cannot recommend or evaluate this site and have not provided a hyperlink. However, we did make one last attempt (after waiting a month) to access this website. While the website does load without warnings, the “Scholarship” and “My Profile” navigation tabs do not function. Essentially, this website is not worth a visit.
