LPGALPGA Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship

According to the LPGA Foundation’s website:

The Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is granted annually through The LPGA Foundation and the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship Fund. Established in 2006, the objective of the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is to provide a need-based scholarship to a female high school senior from a recognized minority background who will be pursuing a full-time course of study and playing collegiate golf at an accredited college or university in the United States.

The Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is a need-based award to a high school senior from a recognized minority background who will be playing golf at the collegiate level. Qualifications for all scholarships include strong academic programs, community service and recommendations. One $1,250 scholarship will be awarded in 2014.

Award Amount: $1,250 (1 Awarded)

Eligibility: Female high school student from a recognized minority background (African-American, Asian, Pacific Island, Native American, Native Alaskan, or Hispanic) who will be playing golf at the collegiate level. Must be a US citizen or legal resident, planning to attend college full-time, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate financial need. Applicant must have a background in golf and plan to play competitive golf at college.

Requirements: Online Application, Official High School Transcript, Essay, and 3 Letters of Recommendation
