“The AFL-CIO is an organization of people who work. We help lead a movement for social and economic justice in America and the world.”—AFL-CIO Mission & Vision.

Although this site is not your “standard” scholarship search site, the AFL-CIO is a great place to look for scholarships.

Type “college scholarships” in the search box. When conducting research for How to Find Scholarship Opportunities Online, we were presented with a list of 533 matches. Each match has a title and a brief description. Click on the title to learn about deadlines, award amounts, number of scholarships awarded, eligibility requirements, and links to the application. You’ll need to scroll through the list to determine which results are informational articles, internships, or scholarships.

We reran the search using “college scholarships for women” in the search box and received 159 matches. We tried “minority scholarships” and received 324 matches. We suggest you run searches using a variety of keywords that describe you and include “scholarships.”
