We did not find this search engine particularly helpful for locating scholarships. However, the site does provide a wealth of information about colleges (i.e., cost, number of students), which may be helpful to you in selecting a college to attend. Click on the “College Search” tab at the top of the page to research colleges, compare costs, and discover more about each school. It’s never too early to start searching for the right college for you.
To use their scholarship search engine, click on the “Financial Aid” tab at the top of the page. On the next page in the right-hand sidebar, click on the SCHOLARSHIP SEARCH button underneath “Financial Aid Resources.” You will be prompted to enter personal and academic information. Click the NEXT button. This page asks you for more information such as your ethnic heritage, interests, planned major, career goals, religious affiliation, clubs and organizations you participate in, and more. Click the NEXT button.
Finally, you will be asked to set up an account with an email address and password in order to match you with scholarships. Scholarships indicate the deadline date and award amount. Clicking on a specific scholarship will open a new window that outlines the eligibility requirements, contact information, and website link.
When we entered only basic information (such as gender, US citizenship, and state), we had 17 scholarships returned. While the return results were dismal, it illustrates why we suggest that you provide as much detail as you can in order to increase the number of matching scholarships. You can save scholarships to your “Favorites” folder.
CollegeView’s YouTube Channel (helpful if you’re in the college selection process; however, there’s nothing on using their search engine to locate scholarships)
